By Brendan Lally, Robert Canning, and Ying Hua February 1, 2019 Filed under Archives, Translations, Gadsden...

Will the new local pot shop impact campus life?
It will, but not drastically Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the new marijuana dispensary in Northampton. New England Treatment Access is one of the two first legal recreational pot dispensaries in Massachusetts, the other being Cultivate Holdings LLC in Leicester, MA. Followed by around 1,000 customers last Tuesday, Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz was the first in line at the shop, proud to show his support for the legalization of marijuana.
Celebrate Election Day to make voting cool again
A unique approach to increase voter turnout Leading up to this year’s midterm elections, it was nearly impossible to go on your phone and not see the words, “Go Vote.” All across social media, celebrities and athletes preached that our civic duty must be fulfilled. Uber even offered free rides for those heading to the polls. But the fact of the matter is, on average, only about 40 percent of eligible voters usually vote in midterm elections.
UMass wants to maintain its liberal identity
At the University of Massachusetts, we have a very diverse campus with people from all walks of life. There are people from all over the globe converging at this institution to grow, learn and become functioning members of society. This common goal is something that unites the student body, though we often forget that. In 2018, our nation is divided by politics.
Sticking it to the Man (Es an den Mann kleben)
Hang on for a minute...we're trying to find some more stories you might like.
Sticking it to the Man
There once was a time where you could walk past the bustling towers of Southwest Residential Area and notice many vibrant messages scattered from window to window. Unfortunately, this is now a thing of the past, as residents of the Kennedy high-rise were sent an email regarding the sticky notes. As of Sept. 5, all residents were ordered to remove any adhesive on the windows, which brings up the million-dollar question: What’s the big deal?
