Raised in York, Pennsylvania, Brendon Falconer developed a strong work ethic early in life. He balanced academic responsibilities with a serious commitment to athletics. As a competitive track and field athlete, he learned discipline, focus, and determination, qualities that would later shape his professional leadership style.
He earned an accounting degree from Kent State University and later completed an MBA at Indiana State University. His academic preparation emphasized management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. These studies provided a solid framework for understanding financial systems and guiding teams within complex institutions.
Brendon’s technical background is rooted in advanced financial and risk disciplines. He has extensive experience in financial accounting, asset and liability management, management reporting, and data analytics. His work has included econometric modeling, ACL development, and stress testing frameworks, all designed to support accurate forecasting and regulatory compliance.
In addition, he has worked in mergers and acquisitions, credit analysis, financial modeling, and investment portfolio oversight. He has contributed to the development of hedging and derivatives strategies and supported investor relations and performance measurement initiatives. His analytical focus helps organizations anticipate challenges and make informed decisions based on measurable data.
In February 2014, Brendon joined Old National Bank as senior vice president and director of management reporting and data analytics. In this role, he led enterprise financial, operational, and credit reporting. He also oversaw the development and maintenance of ACL and stress-testing models. During this period, he helped establish the bank’s first formal data science role and supported the creation of a business intelligence platform that improved reporting across departments.
In September 2016, he became treasurer at Old National Bank. His responsibilities expanded to include liquidity oversight, capital planning, market risk sensitivity, treasury operations, and management of the bank’s investment portfolio. He also centralized consumer loan and deposit pricing and enhanced analytics and reporting processes. Among his accomplishments was leading a revised deposit pricing framework that resulted in an 18% percent deposit beta while maintaining deposit strength. He also introduced hedging strategies that protected interest income during changing market conditions from 2019 to 2020.
Since May 2019, Brendon has served as senior executive vice president and chief financial officer. His oversight now includes financial accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, data analytics, facilities, procurement, and leadership of finance teams. During his tenure as chief financial officer, Old National Bank more than doubled in size, surpassing $46 billion in combined assets and completing the acquisition of a $20 billion Chicago bank.
Beyond his internal leadership, Brendon has contributed to industry discussions through speaking engagements at conferences. He presented at the “Acquired or Be Acquired” banking conference in 2022 on core system selection following mergers, focusing on integration risk and long-term cost structure. In 2023, he addressed enhanced credit analytics and the growing role of data-driven credit evaluation in performance and risk control.
Outside of finance, Brendon Falconer maintains his connection to athletics. He finished third in the decathlon at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships and competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials. He also supports local nonprofit and educational organizations and has served on community boards in financial advisory roles, reflecting his ongoing commitment to responsible leadership and service.
