Virgola Oyster Bar Opening New Alphabet City Location
EAST VILLAGE - Italian wine and oyster bar Virgola is opening a third location in Alphabet City, just a few months after opening its second location in the East Village, as part of an ambitious expansion. A notice on the storefront gate at 221 Avenue B announced that owner Joseph Marazzo was seeking a liquor license for the new location. The notice was first spotted by local blog EV Grieve.
Cozy Greenwich Avenue Oyster Bar Opening New Location in East Village
EAST VILLAGE — A West Village oyster bar known for its intimate and narrow space is expanding into roomier digs in the East Village this fall. Virgola, which opened in a six-foot-wide alleyway on Greenwich Avenue two years ago, will move into a second location three times larger at 111 East Seventh St. in November, said owner Joseph Marazzo.
