Why Maintaining Flat CO2 Emissions Isn’t Enough
More industrial companies are now reducing their carbon emissions than increasing their CO2 output. That’s good news, right? Well, don’t pop the champagne just yet. Since the ratification of the Paris Climate Accords in 2016, 49% have actually been emitting more every year.

Walking the Tightrope to Thrive in the New Industrial Era
The industrial sector is at a crossroads, where recent contractions coincide with signs of revival. Organizations recognize the need to move from legacy systems to embracing high-tech, modern capabilities but they are grappling with several issues that need to be addressed. Talent scarcity is one, calling for a change in the way work gets done. Doing more with less is a key challenge.
How Interoperability Unlocks Industrial Reinvention
Adapting quickly to the constant stream of new business challenges and opportunities facing industrial companies in every vertical is essential. But this is often easier said than done. But no matter how it’s addressed, compressing digital transformation into a shorter time period—often in numerous parts of the business at the same time—is fast becoming a key factor to success. New Accenture research shows how some companies have been able to compress their digital transformation.

The Next Phase of Supply Chain is Here. Are You Ready?
Supply chains are in the global spotlight like never before. With inflation and economic uncertainty following from pandemic shutdowns, managing supply chain disruption has become a normal part of doing business. At the same time, companies are recognizing that supply chain operations are a key part of the drive to reduce carbon emissions. As they adapt their supply chains in response, companies are also having to manage a massive talent shortage in manufacturing.
Turbocharging Speed to Market
Speed to market is an increasingly key priority
as companies compete on their ability
to sense and respond to change faster than
others. Those that can increase their speed to
market can gain a competitive advantage. Amid the current macroeconomic pressures
and the burdens facing the industrial sector, the
C-suites of industrial enterprises (IEs) are building
increased speed into their operations on a permanent
basis as a means of longer-term success and,
increasingly, survival.
Maintaining Mission Readiness Through Portfolio-Based Asset Management
In an increasingly complex national security landscape, defense resilience strategies focus heavily on mission assurance. To ensure readiness, both the military and related federal agencies are shifting to a portfolio-based asset management approach that addresses the full lifecycle of structures and systems.
Strengthen Your Supply Chain with Intelligent Visibility
Over the past few years, businesses have
had to learn that their supply chains
need to be much more resilient. Raw
material and component shortages, along with
increasing operating and merchandise costs, have
continued to exert enormous pressures on global
supply chains across the manufacturing and logistics
sector, which is still recovering from a global
pandemic.

Healthcare: After Les Fossoyeurs
Do they care, or do they not care? The ‘they’ in this context is financial investors in care-related property. The question has been addressed most recently by two publications, both of which paint a bleak picture of 21st century capitalism.
Digital Twins Can Help Turn Manufacturing Data Into Insight
How does data become knowledge
and actionable insight? Usually, it’s
a question of context. Manufacturing
data without context is, ultimately, just
data—often overwhelming in volume, hard
to interpret, and difficult to use in practice. For manufacturing businesses, this can
be a day-to-day challenge.
Responsible, Supply Chain Management
The impacts of the COVID-19 crisis underscore how important proactive and forward-looking crisis management is for safeguarding the competitiveness of businesses, especially with regard to the supply chain. With the pandemic outbreak, important suppliers failed practically overnight. Many industrial companies waited in vain for urgently needed raw materials and production materials, or had to put up with long and costly delays.
Accelerating the Industrial Enterprise
Although the COVID-19 pandemic has been highly disruptive to industrial enterprises (IEs), projections for many industries indicate that things are beginning to turn around, which could set the stage for IEs to start shifting gears from rebounding from the pandemic to accelerating their growth. Of course, accelerating growth isn’t easy.

Setting the Right Strategic Priorities for a Post-Pandemic World
For some companies, COVID-19 led to a complete realignment of their strategic priorities. For others, it simply meant to carry on doing what they do already, but at a much higher speed. No matter which category your company falls into, many big transformations now take place simultaneously, all requiring immediate attention from leadership. All this taken together makes it even harder for industrial companies to define their long-term strategic priorities.
