Vila Hermina is more than just a Pepto-Bismol-covered building in the middle of the Czech Republic -- it's actually an intelligently designed micro house with three stories, strategic ramps, and a movie theatre built inside. Granted, it isn't a large movie theater by any means, but in a home this small, it's pretty impressive. Tree-Inspired Pole House Has a Minimal Footprint to Stop Deforestation
Inspired by the mighty tree, Danish architect, Konrad Wójcik created an uplifting vision of a small, A-frame like cabin with a minimal footprint. Clear cutting and bulldozing has long been the standard to make way for a new housing development, but that comes at the cost of losing many trees. The Pole House, by contrast, is a tall, two person home mounted on a single pier foundation that allows it to fit snugly in a forest without making a huge impact.

The wall remained standing and braved more snow, wind, and cold, which eventually transitioned into rain and sun.

Replacing Ugly Construction Site Barriers with Beautiful Living Green Walls
Normally at a big construction site, an ugly OSB wall plastered with posters provides a barrier between the site and the rest of the city. Typically thought of as eyesores, these walls are anything but pleasing to the eye. INTERVIEW: Architect David Hertz on how to build with old planes
The incredible 747 House, a Malibu home built from the recycled parts of a Boeing 747, captivated us with its ingenuity. Tin sheds are a part of Australia’s building vernacular – which is why a dilapidated shed in Sydney was revamped and renewed instead of being torn down. Designed by Raffaello Rosselli, Tinshed is a two-story studio, office and apartment at the back of a residential lot in the Redfern area. The original shed was clad in a mix-match of rusty corrugated metal panels. "Ze o Ze" Modular Shoes Let You Swap Components for Different Looks

Loosely translated as “this or that” in Hebrew, the Ze o Ze features a raft of components for swapping in and out at will. The result? A ballet slipper one day, a brogue-inspired lace-up another, and a Mary Jane kitten-heel pump the next—all from the same shoe.
