What was your first job as a journalist?

Technically it wasn't a journalism position, but I edited my dad's master's thesis when I was 14!

What's your favorite social network?

Facebook, which makes me practically old school these days. I follow a ton of news sites and fellow journalists.

Why did you become a journalist?

Because being a lawyer just wasn't in the cards for me, even though I tried.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I did. I also proposed adding a dedicated copy editor to the team -- so I debuted the role.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't be afraid, but remember your manners. Be professional, but remember to have fun. Don't burn bridges, but keep your eyes open.
