What was your first job as a journalist?

Covering high school sports as an Intern at the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Hootsuite, MS Word, Lexis/Nexis, Google

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter: While I hate the incendiary tone, I love the immediacy and enforced brevity.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I covered Sports and local events: I was at the Washington Hilton Hotel on 3/30/81 when John Hinckley attempted to assassinate Pres. Reagan.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Develop as diverse a portfolio as you can. Make sure your portfolio demonstrates your versatility, flexibility, and creativity.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

A source called me about the violent video game, "25 to Life." The pitch was one line: "Play this game (URL). Call me after."

What's your favorite drink?

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Outside--running, swimming, playing soccer, skiing, gardening, hiking.
