Optimal Two-Phase Sampling Designs for Generalized Raking Estimators With Multiple Parameters of Interest
1 Introduction Routinely collected observational data are an increasingly popular resource for biomedical research, largely due to the widespread adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) [1]. This is a promising trend, as EHR databases hold clinically relevant information for large cohorts and are cost-effective compared to traditional study data.
Generating synthetic multi-national longitudinal cohorts for clinically grounded HIV research
Abstract High-quality, widely accessible international longitudinal cohort data for people living with HIV (PWH) have long been needed for advancing open science and data-driven innovation, yet stringent and incongruent privacy regulations have made data sharing difficult.

Between‐ and Within‐Cluster Spearman Rank Correlations
1 Introduction Clustered data are common in practice. Clustering arises when subjects (e.g., people) are measured repeatedly, or subjects are nested in clusters (e.g., households and schools) and measured only once. The total, between-, and within-cluster Pearson correlations are frequently used in the analysis of clustered data [1, 2]. The total correlation measures the overall correlation but fails to acknowledge the clustered nature of the data.

"Statistical Analysis Of The Comet Assay Using A Mixture Of Gamma Distr" by Bryan E. Shepherd and Dr. G. Bruce Schaalje
Keywords comet, gamma distribution, cancer research, single cell gel electrophoresis College Physical and Mathematical Sciences Abstract The comet (single cell gel electrophoresis) assay is a highly sensitive method of detecting cellular DNA damage that is often used in cancer research. The “tail moment” is the most widely used measurement of DNA damage in the comet assay. A higher tail moment indicates more DNA damage.

Rank intraclass correlation for clustered data
Abstract Clustered data are common in biomedical research. Observations in the same cluster are often more similar to each other than to observations from other clusters. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), first introduced by R. A. Fisher, is frequently used to measure this degree of similarity. However, the ICC is sensitive to extreme values and skewed distributions, and depends on the scale of the data. It is also not applicable to ordered categorical data.
Analyzing clustered continuous response variables with ordinal regression models
The data for the CD4:CD8 ratio in this paper will not be made publicly available for ethical and privacy reasons. The dataset contains sensitive information. Furthermore, we do not own the data, and we made an agreement with those who collected the data that we will not share it. We are happy to provide others with the relevant information for how they might be able to obtain the data under reasonable requests (please contact Bryan Shepherd at bryan.shepherd@vumc.org).
Timely Tennis Tips!

Consider the following tactics with your doubles partner: Calibrate to Devastate Practice a swing that makes the ball land around the service line. That same swing works when you are at the service line and keeps the ball deep.

“If it weren’t for my traditional healer, I would be dead”: Engaging traditional healers to support people living with HIV in rural Mozambique
Traditional healer characteristics Forty-two traditional healers volunteered and completed training to provide support to participants. Only 26 were selected by participants. Among all healers, the mean age was 48 years (SD 12.2), most (36, 86%) were married, and only 10 (24%) were female. The mean score for HIV knowledge among healers at baseline was 5.5 (SD 1.96) of a total possible score of 10.
“If it weren’t for my traditional healer, I would be dead”: Engaging traditional healers to support people living with HIV in rural Mozambique
Across rural sub-Saharan Africa, people living with HIV (PLHIV) commonly seek out treatment from traditional healers. We report on the clinical outcomes of a community health worker intervention adapted for traditional healers with insight into our results from qualitative interviews. We employed a pre-post intervention study design and used sequential mixed methods to assess the impact of a traditional healer support worker intervention in Zambézia province, Mozambique.
Weight gain among treatment‐naïve persons with HIV starting integrase inhibitors compared to non‐nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors or protease inhibitors in a large observational cohort in the United States and Canada
Abstract Introduction Weight gain following antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation is common, potentially predisposing some persons with HIV (PWH) to cardio‐metabolic disease. We assessed relationships between ART drug class and weight change among treatment‐naïve PWH initiating ART in the North American AIDS Cohort Collaboration on Research and Design (NA‐ACCORD).
