Spring 2026 Update
Hello all! It has been a few months since we posted any new updates so we just wanted to provide a quick message. Thanks to the ongoing support of the audio community and enthusiasts, we have been hard at work everyday filling more and more orders (one of the reasons for the lack of updates). We are also hard at work behind the scenes in our quest to finally bring a true 16ch amplifier solution to the market. Rest assured, when the time comes more information will be provided. Thank you everyone!
Mass Effect Andromeda HDR Bug?
Hey all, When playing Mass Effect Andromeda with HDR enabled, I've noticed that when loading a map for multiplayer the background picture will look bright/HDR-like until the loading bar gets to 75% and then the picture dims considerably. My TV never leaves HDR picture mode though. Is this just a loading screen glitch or does it also effect the HDR picture during gameplay as well? Thanks!

Using an external amp and hum noises... ever happened to you?
As the title suggests... I plugged an external amp with my marantz 6010 and there's this like audible hum and it's just driving me nuts and crazy I'm sure lots of you out there in this forum has at least experienced this at some point in your audio listening history. Subwoofer hum (not due to source connection)
Hey all, I just got all (4) of my PSA S1813's hooked up today and I am running into a hum issue. With just the power cord connected (no XLR or RCA cable connected), I am getting typical ground hum from all (4) subwoofers. I tried both a ground lift adapter (cheater plug adapter) to remove the ground connection and also tried different AC circuits (breakers) in the house, but same hum. It is audible from easily 6-8ft away minimum. Also tried my own power cords just to check that, still hum.
Rythmik FV18's (newest versions), Black Oak, Great condition, Will Ship
I purchased these off another forum member over a year ago and used them in my dedicated HT build. They are the newer FV18 versions (larger port size, Hypex 1000 plate amps). Great overall condition. One tiny cut/blemish to the top corner of one of the front grilles. Price is PER UNIT if picked up. I will ship at the buyers complete expense.
Subwoofer advice needed (looking to expand to four)
Hey all, Having just picked up an AVM 90, I plan on expanding my subwoofer count from (2) to (4) in the coming weeks. Original plan was to add (2) more Rythmik FV18's to the room since I already have (2) but having found a vibration issue affecting my projector, I have opened the door to a lot more ideas. I am addressing the projector vibration with some appropriate fixes, but once I started investigating it I realized some things I am not entirely happy about regarding bass in my room.
Vibration issue in dedicated theater build
I have a dedicated theater space I built last year. Room is 24x14x9 and the floor is a concrete slab. However, a 10" platform is built on the last 10ft of the room for a second row of seats. The platform is filled with insulation and all the floor joists for it are anchored/secured very well to the overall framing. The non-riser portion of the floor, where my subwoofers are located, has a plywood subfloor on top of it.
Projector vibration/image shaking
Hey all, I have had a dedicated space (was featured last year for HTOTM) and just recently upgraded the projector from the NZ7 to the NZ900. I reused the same Crimson AV JR3 mount and got everything dialed in. But while watching my first full movie today (Overlord), I noticed very obvious image shaking during even moderate bass audio (such as more midbass orientated gun battles) and severe shaking during bass heavy scenes (explosions, etc).

Vtv vs buckeye amps
#1 · Does anyone here have any experience with vtv amplifiers? I've been looking at buckeye amplifiers and wondered how they compare. I'm located in Ohio so there both relatively close for me. I'm wanting to know about customer service, performance and build quality. According to there websites Dylan has a 1 year warranty and Vtv has a 2 year warranty.
Flush mounting sound panels to ceiling
I am down to one last project for my build. I have some 4x4’ absorption panels I am putting on the ceiling right above the screen (they are wrapped in acoustic black velvet so doing double duty). They come with Z clips but I was hoping to find an easier/better way to mount the panels to the ceiling. And a way that avoids putting any screws through the front of the panels to avoid messing up the fabric. Figured I’d ask to see what others might have used.
Placing speakers with a built-in axis tilt
I am nearing the completion of my theater build and the last thing up to do is build the false wall (using an AT screen). However a slight wrinkle is that the speakers I am using employ a built-in 10 degree down tilt of the speaker axis.
Acoustic treatment behind screen?
OK, last question for my dedicated build (which also means I am nearing the finish line): I am using an AT screen with the LCR behind it. I have seen some setups where people cover the entire front wall around the speakers with foam sound insulation (the black wedges/sheets people use for sound booths typically) and others who have not. Is there an appreciable performance gain/acoustics advantage to doing so? Or do people more do it as an easy way to black out behind the screen? Thanks!
Best material for a sound absorbing curtain
As my new HT build has a large window along one side (in case the room is ever converted to a non dedicated HT room), I am trying to find the best material for hanging in front of it. The window itself will have a blackout double cell shade to block all light. But I also want to hang a curtain in front of it for further sound dampening. Is there a specific fabric material best suited for absorbing sound waves over other fabrics?
Best way to hang/cover walls with black velvet
Getting closer to the finer details of my build. I am trying to figure out the best way to mount black velvet material from the ceiling to the floor across the front of the room and a few feet on the side walls near the front. When I say best way, I mean so it is as even as possible with the ceiling without any gaps but also without looking like it is bunched/attached haphazardly. Is there a simple idea I am overlooking, besides some sort of pre-made curtain/track mounting system? Thanks!
Our newest product is...
.....coming soon! But here is a very low res picture of the back of the prototype case so spark speculation and guessing. Official announcement is coming soon!
Show (or tell) me you theater colors!
As I near the painting/finishing phase of construction, I am now in the "what color scheme should I do" phase. While the room is a dedicated theater build, I also want to avoid making the entire room one giant black hole. So black paint is out. My plan is to use black curtains (like velvet) around the front wall and the direct side wall area of the screen. And blackout acoustic panels directly above the screen.
RUIPRO Gen3/C HDMI 2.1b Ultra High Speed Certified, 33 feet
Opened/not in original packaging but it was never used. Purchased through Amazon but didn’t need the 33ft length and too late to return. Price includes shipping
The Buckeye Barn Theater
Construction is well underway on my new dedicated HT room. The room is going to be 25’ long x 14’ wide with two rows of seats (a 10” riser to be built). Coined it the Buckeye Barn theater as it is being built inside a barn. The wall with the insulation is actually part of the current rooms I live in, like a nice cozy condo. So a door will be built into that wall to access the theater from my current living area.
Projector Hush Box
Construction is finally underway with my new theater build and one thing I thought of randomly was building a hush box instead of just mounting the projector to the ceiling with a normal bracket. I am not the most creative with DIY projects like this, so was hoping someone might have some images of a box they built or even a small DIY guide. I will be using a JVC NZ7. Thanks!
Recessed Light Recommendations
Discussion Starter · #1 · a moment ago Now that all the big purchases/equipment are finalized for my upcoming build, I am working on the small details. Room is going to be 25ft x 14ft with two rows of seats and a small counter top/cabinet area at the back of the room not so much a bar, but close to it). I want to do three rows of lights: one above each row of seats and a third above the counter top along the back. Are there recommendations for Recessed Lighting that are ideal for a theater?
Horn-loaded (Klipsch) vs. traditional dome (ELAC, Paradigm, or Martin Logan) Atmos speakers
Discussion Starter · #1 · a moment ago I am still kicking around which speakers to get for the Atmos setup of my theater build. Will be doing six in-ceiling speakers for Atmos. Seating will be two rows, but will be giving priority in terms of placement to the second row. Ceiling is 8ft above second row (9ft above first row). And will be following Dolby guidelines pretty closely. I am also only looking at angled models. The LCR and surround speakers are compression driver JBL's.
Input on (4) vs (6) channel Atmos for two rows of seating
Another question to pick your minds for my upcoming build. For those who have two rows of seating, how important/how impactful do find Middle Atmos speakers to be? I am obviously planning on Front and Rear in ceiling Atmos, using 30 or 45 degree angle speakers (most likely JBL Stage 2), with the Rear being behind my second row of seating and the Front being forward of my first row of seating.
Klipsch PRO-180RPC LCR for Atmos and should I do 6 overhead channels?
Discussion Starter · #1 · a moment ago For my upcoming theater build I am using JBL Pro Cinema speakers (C211 for LCR and 8320's for surrounds) so I am looking to get similar high efficiency in ceiling speakers for the Atmos. The Klipsch PRO-180RPC LCR seems to fit the bill (96dB and angled baffle). Was hoping to get feedback on anyone who has used these for Atmos duty, or even LCR duty and how well they work/imaging.
Subwoofer Cable run
Hey all, For running a long span of subwoofer cabling (about 50ft or so), can I just use a good quality XLR cable or do I need to use a different method (like using RG6 cable and then converting the wire on both ends)? Thanks!
