Davis Riley carries the momentum into day two of the 2023 Memorial Tournament. The 26-year-old American golfer finished the first round of the tournament Thursday with 5-under par, bettering Matt Wallace, who tied for 4-under for most of his first day or finished alone in first place, Jordan Spieth, who used four bogeys to take a share of first place, and Rory McIlroy, who was 3-under, went to the last hole, which he triple-bogeyed, falling behind even after the first round.
