How to Speak So Others Will Listen
You’re in a classroom, a giant hall with a bright stage set up at the very bottom and with stairs on two sides leading upwards on a slope, concluding with a door at one extreme corner. You’re in front, surprisingly, since you didn’t want too much attention given to you because you didn’t think you deserved it. But today, on this very exceptional day, you decided to pay attention. You were not alone of course.
Death Among Lovers- Flash Fiction
Marsha looked up from the breakfast table, her husband Carl was seated across from her, sipping a cup of coffee and reading the morning paper. It had been months since she'd met her new lover, Tony. How many times had she opened her mouth to confess, only to get up and pour herself another cup of coffee? She and Carl had grown apart after ten years of marriage and two adorable little girls, Romana and Carlee. Tony was growing more impatient with each passing day. Remembering her promise to tell Carl.
Flash Fiction: Woman in the black trench coat
Officer Lanny Dunbar spotted the woman pulling her load down the sidewalk. There was not anything suspicious about her, but a little voice in his head told him to stop and inquire. On this street business professionals and the homeless passed wordlessly by. Very few others had business here. City hall and the police station were located at one end of the street, and a mile away, the other end passed the Salvation Army and dead-ended at the train station.

Her mind rushed back to a time when she almost drowned in her pool. From that day forward, she never again went near water.

The Boulevard of Empty Shoes (a flash fiction story)
I woke up with a start. Not knowing what aroused me I stared at the alarm clock. It was 7.00 am; time for me to get up for work, but the alarm hadn't gone off. I showered, dressed, downed a quick cup of instant coffee, slipped on my shoes, and walked out the door. I only lived three blocks from my office building so rarely drove; besides walking was healthier and you could enjoy the sights. Today, though, something seemed a little odd.
Flash Fiction - Genre Facts, Writing Tips and Stories
Evan was casting a spell in the basement. Megan was in the living room upstairs, preparing for the new arrival. "Have you started?" she yelled. "Yes, dear," Evan yelled back. "Remember to wipe your feet before you come upstairs," Megan said, as she often did when he performed spell work.
