What was your first job as a journalist?
I was a freelancer in high school and wrote a few articles for a couple of websites.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Only a handful of times, not enough to compose something on an entire page.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To share the truth through a unique voice

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
While I didn't write for the newspaper, I did contribute to the school's yearbook as a writer and graphic designer for my graduating year.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A news piece about a college student who was assaulted on the Chicago Public Transit; provided my reflections on the news.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Deliver and write with conviction; say and write it as you believe it.
What's your favorite drink?
Mango, banana smoothie with bits of fruit
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Outdoors taking a walk, on my couch playing a game, on the floor reading a book, or on the road listening to the radio.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Often, my words can start to scrabble different tones.
