Recent trials (MAGIC, FNCLCC) have proven survival advantages by neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in patients with advanced gastric cancer (AGC). The evaluation of the response to chemotherapy should be objective and reproducible. The classification that mostly fits these criteria is the histopathological regression grade proposed by Becker in 2003.
