Spooky Season's Top Paranormal Romance Recs
I have always loved reading new fae and fairy romances, so I was super excited when I found The Elven Alliance series by Tara Grayce. This series to me is exactly what I look for in a fantasy romance. A hot and brooding elf with a heart of gold? Check. A badass, intelligent, fierce female lead? Check. Really innovative and unique world building? Check. An awesome plot that will make you not want to stop reading? Check.
New YA Fantasy and Paranormal Romance Books to Pick Up and Read
I picked up Incendiary this summer and absolutely fell head-over-heels in love with this new Latinx fantasy. I had never read anything by Zoraida Córdova, but I’d heard amazing things about her books. I fell in love with the book from the first chapter and could not stop reading it. Zoraida Córdova’s writing is so lyrical and beautiful and she created such strong, dimensional characters. The plot was fast paced and interesting and the world that she created was fascinating and magical.
YA Graphic Novel Starter Guide
This is one of my favorite graphic novels, and I think that it is beautiful and powerful in every way. The artwork alone is absolutely beautiful, and the story talks about so many important topics on top of discussing heartbreak, relationships, and what it’s like to fall in love. I just really adored the writing in this graphic novel and the characters were so well crafted. Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this graphic novel and can only say over and over again how much I really loved it.
Four Reasons to Read Head Over Heels by Hannah Orenstein
I have read so many incredible books in 2020 so far, and one of them is Head Over Heels by Hannah Orenstein. This book is amazing, and I will include the synopsis at the end of the article for anyone who is interested. This book follows an ex-gymnast as she trains a new Olympic hopeful for the 2020 summer Olympics.
Four Reasons Why You Should be Reading Bringing Down the Duke
1. A Strong Female Lead One of my favorite things about this book is Annabelle, our main character. I felt like she was a very strong, relatable character that I fell in love with from the first chapter. I really enjoyed learning more about The Suffragette movement along with Annabelle and watching her fall in love. 2. A Swoon Worthy Romantic Interest One other character that made me fall madly in love with this book was the main love interest, Sebastian.
Five Bookshops One Must Visit when Traveling to Edinburgh, Scotland!
Waterstones I love visiting any Waterstones I can find when I visit the UK, but one of my all-time favorite Waterstones is the one in Edinburgh. This store is so beautiful, bright, and the perfect place to spend hours on end reading, writing, browsing for books, and drinking coffee. I always make sure to make a stop at this store when I am in the city. They have an incredible selection of books, and Waterstones always has really amazing special editions of popular new releases.
Five Books To Read in 2020!
Similar to The Flatshare, Get a Life, Chloe Brown is another romance that I am currently throwing at people to read. This book stole my heart from the very first chapter. I could not put it down. This book will give you all the feels and will make you want and need more from Talia Hibbert! Her writing is so inviting, and I love the story she created. The plot is so important on so many different levels, and this book is so much more than a romance book to me.
Travel Tips: A Discovery of Witches Tour of Oxford
1. All Souls College and New College How could you go to Oxford and not visit the two colleges of our two main characters? All Souls College, which is where Matthew lives, is beautiful. It is open to the public only at certain hours, and therefore, we were only able to walk around the outer grounds of the college. Then there is New College, the college that Diana belongs to in the series. Both of these colleges are seen in the TV show as well. 2.
5 Books to Read on Valentine's Day
This book. This book! I remember seeing this romance all over social media and loving the cover. That was honestly what pulled me into this book, how adorable the cover was. But once I picked it up, I realized why everyone was really talking about it—it is such a heartfelt, honest, beautiful romance with so much depth. Both of the characters are so human on the page. This story isn’t just Chloe’s, it is Red’s story as well, and both of the narratives they tell are impactful and strong.
Best Bookish Places in Oxford
4. Christ’s Church Christs Church is one of the many colleges that is a part of Oxford University, but this one is special to literary fans for many reasons. Alice Liddell, the famous girl who inspired the character of Alice in Wonderland, met Lewis Carol here due to the fact that her father was the dean of Christ Church College. Lewis Carol also worked at this college. Additionally, here is a special staircase you can see on the audio tour of Christ’s Church that was used in the Harry Potter films.
