My Husband of 63 Years He often says, “I love you.” He sometimes says, “I care.” And he once did say, “I like the way, You fold my underwear.” By Diane McAllister The Art of language Our language bequeathed, Finds generations with teeth. With speech to besmirch, The sins of those Perched. Our thoughts all conveyed. Bespoken, replayed. With lyric bewildered, Each utterance filtered. Let cynics beware, Besiege poet’s flare. It's all about the nose What is it that the nose knows, If it’s in the air that’s where it goes. The smell of cookies baking or fresh bread, Then there’s another, something we dread. This pandemic, coronavirus is who, Working together there’s much we can do. Cover it up and all can be swell, Friends and family, let’s keep them all well. The solution is simple, just wear a mask, No one else should have to ask. But wearing a mask, it’s not enough, There’s more you see, it’s not so tough.

Make the dew drops diamonds — Their facets so bright, Sparkling with glitters and glimmer And light! The butterflies — let’s guild their wings With crimson spots and orange and green! Oh glorious sun please fill this day With rainbow hues — no black, no grey Soft pink clouds with silver linings — Golden beams...
