‘Steelborn’ by Taylor J. LaRue Book Review
Fantasy Novels, Penguin Random House, Recommended Reading, Romance Novels 6 min read Share this with a friend! The romantasy genre has often eluded me. It has shot up in popularity over the years, but I haven’t managed to be hooked by the premise of any much so far. But this all changed when someone told me about Steelborn by Taylor J. LaRue. It’s filled with magic, thieves, pirates, and a giant squid, so of course, by the premise alone, I was hooked.

Fantasy Novels, Funny Books, LGBTQ+, Romance Novels, Titan Books 7 min read Share this with a friend! Apparently, I need to die? Not really, but the concept of finding a main character of a novel with the same name as you becomes a lot harder when you have a less common name like I do. In comes Apparently, Sir Cameron Needs to Die by author Greer Stothers. The name alone was enough to intrigue me into checking it out.

'Time Travel is Dangerous!' is British Comedy at its Finest
Share this with a friend! British comedy is some of the best in the world, whether it’s the slapstick comedy that made the Carry On films so famous or the more subtle, sarcastic, and dry comedy that can be found in many of our best, more recent shows and films. Time Travel is Dangerous! is a new British comedy film written and directed by Chris Reading that meshes two of my favourite genres, sci-fi and comedy, into a hilarious, very British adventure.
'Andor' Season 2
Share this with a friend! After 3 long years, Andor will finally return to our screens with the second season of the hit Star Wars show. The first season of Andor, which aired in late 2022 didn’t quite hit the highest highs of The Mandalorian in viewership, but was far more critically acclaimed than almost any other Star Wars project, bringing a high level of accolades and a sense of importance and grandeur to Star Wars television and what it could be and say.

'Tempest Breaker' by Cavan Scott
Share this with a friend! I have to admit that I normally don’t listen to audiobooks. I usually prefer to have the book in front of me and let my brain do the talking. However, with one of my favorite franchises, Star Wars, delving ever more into audiobooks and audio dramas, I find myself checking them out and being in awe of their immersion and use of Foley throughout. The High Republic is quickly reaching its finale, which is sure to be an intense ride.
'Sisterhood of Dune' By Brian Herbert & Kevin Anderson
Share this with a friend! With the release of Dune: Prophecy on HBO & Max, the world is finding out about the wider world of the Dune franchise. Most will know of Frank Herbert’s original 6 book saga that spans the rise and fall of Paul Atredies before jumping generations to his offspring. When Frank Herbert died in 1986, his son, Brian Herbert, took over the franchise from his father. Alongside sci-fi writer Kevin J. Anderson, both writers took it upon themselves to finish Frank Herbert’s saga.
'Paddington In Peru' is a Near-Perfect Family Tale
Share this with a friend! There is something so charming about the Paddington movies, especially as a British person, but I assume for audiences worldwide too. They are the ultimate family-friendly, wholesome entertainment about a beloved bear who ends up in all kinds of capers. The first and second Paddington films remain some of the highest-rated family movies, and the delightfully British cast that stars in them helps amplify the feelgood, cozy, and charming atmosphere in the films.

The novels get republished under this new line, and are given amazing new cover artwork, for a whole new generation of fans to enjoy and read. Disney sparked some controversy when they decided to scrap the then EU continuity to start fresh with their new canon (back when they bought out Lucasfilm in 2012).

Mainly keeping to books and comics, it has since ventured into animation, video games, and soon-to-be television with the release of The Acolyte in 2024. If you know me and my reviews by now, you know how much I love this new era of Star Wars. But even so, keeping up with the plethora of characters and their appearances can be difficult… until now.
