What was your first job as a journalist?
In college I quit my job as a barista to become a full-time contributor for a music blog. I got paid about $2 per article. I was so excited!
How is social media changing news?
News is more accessible than ever now--but also much more overwhelming. Like many others, I consider that a double-edged sword.
What's your favorite social network?
I'm a big-time Instagram user, for better or for worse.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was one of the writing editors for my high school paper during my senior year. So many fond memories in that news room.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Take every opportunity and give your best.

What's your favorite drink?
I've been loving matcha lately.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Probably at a concert! Music is as exciting to me as football games are to many others in my home state (hey, South Carolina)

I am a big fan of The New Yorker.
