It has enabled the democratization of opinion and media. Rather than a select few, anyone can build a following (for better or worse).
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I love connecting books for children with the young readers and communities that need them most.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm most proud of any story that amplifies underserved communities and voices.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Listening to music, playing video games, or spending time with my family.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That children's books are a "lesser" form of publishing. Each reader begins their love of reading by picking up a children's book.
