Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

Stringer -- UPI, Amherst, Mass.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Front-row seat at history unfolding.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

#Redactistan (if I do say so myself).

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Generally email, since I'm on the road a lot and my cellphone doesn't ring in Guantanamo.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter. I use it to report the news, bulletin style, a bite at a time.

Who do you wish followed you?

LeBron. @KingJames is 6-foot-8 and has 7 million followers. I'm up for a Shorty Award, and have 7 hundred followers. We both travel for work, could DM from the road.
