What was your first job as a journalist?

I began writing for Ms. magazine in 2010, after attending the Ms. Writers Workshop to train scholars to write for the public.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes! But it's been a long time...

What does it mean to be a journalist?

As a journalist, I seek to inform the public about issues of importance to women's lives.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Find your voice.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Running, kayaking, skiing, or just walking in the woods!

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

My local newspaper!
