Why did you become a journalist?
My father and brother are journalists so I grew up in a family full of stories and storytelling. And good grammar!
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, I played hockey and figure skating. I was the tomboy in high school who loved sports.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I loved my post on our WWII-themed road trip through Normandy. Educational travel is a priority for my family.

I'm on Pacific time so midday.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
With my kids or traveling.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Most people think travel writing is easy and I just post a few photos and write a few paragraphs. There is so much work that they don't see.
