EDIFICE EQB-1100 vs MRG Kachi Iro
Hello Team G! I thought It could be interesting to compare the flagship of the EDIFICE line, the EQB-1100, with (arguably) the flagship of the whole casio line: the MR-G, which I also bought very recently. Let's first deal with the elephant in the room: yes; my MR-G is approximately 9 times more expensive than the Edifice, so there is no suspense regarding which one will be better finished etc. The whole point of this review is to assess how much better the MR-G really is 1.
New Protrek models - Manaslu & friends
#1 · Pro Trek Japan has a new peak model for October 2021. The PRX-8001YT-7JF is part of the premium Manaslu line, named for the 8,163-meter mountain in the www.g-central.com G-Central has news for us: The Pro Trek PRW-73X-1 and PRW-73XT-1 are deluxe fishing models with the following features: 200-meter water resistance, Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto www.g-central.com The Manaslu is quite a handful at 59.7 x 52.5 x 14.4mm, but no doubt looks stunning in the metal.
Scratched my Full Metal SS Square
Discussion Starter · #1 · Sep 28, 2021 Damn, I just scratched my GMW-B5000D-1ER. Not a violent shock at all (happened this morning in the car while reaching for a ticket through the window). There was already some minor scratches on the polished parts but now this one really ruins the looks IMO. I'll have to do a full review on this watch soon. I think it's gorgeous but way too prone to scratches.
Sallaz polishing (MR-G) vs regular polishing (EDIFICE)
I'll add some comparisons to help demonstrate.GS delights in spreading their zaratsu mythology, and yes their case work, and dial and hands in particular are impressive. Here is the famous 44gs case which best demonstrates their philosophy.Beautiful, clearly defined lines and a truly unique design. Still, its the mirror polished hands and markers that impress me the most.Another GS with a simpler case and different style markers.MRG comparisonJust as complex, if not more so, than my 44gs.
GA-900BEP-8AER
Positive display, no nonsense module with all the core functions and 7 YEARS BATTERY LIFE (better than the 5 years on my GA700 or the typical 2 years of other resin anadigis).Looks good to top it all, and smaller than the GA700 (which is a pro for many people, not necessarily me).I expect the buttons to be slightly less easy to operate than on the GA700, maybe ever so slightly less legible as well, but apart from that...
Review GA-700MG-1AER (the G-HulK)
• I like the module.
Origins of the MR-G Hana Basara (YT Video)
Long (30mn) but very interesting - and rare ! - video on the origins of the MR-G Hana Basara.Picture from the net:A must for all HB owners, but also for anyone interested in the new MR-G models in general.Such a wonderful, wonderful timepiece! 💓💓💓The philosophy of these new MR-Gs is to be the watch equivalent of a samurai armor: solid, protective but also richly and tastefully decorated.Edit: I removed the Kachi Iro picture, let's keep it about Hana Basara
Tide + Baro G-Shock ?
Hello, Can't seem to find a G that does Tide indicator + Barometer, am I missing something? The combo is a classic though for people living by the sea (throw in a thermometer for good measure) so I wonder why Casio wouldn't offer it on a G? Thanks

MTG-B2000BD-1A4ER feedback from long term owners
Hello Team G,Thinking about pulling the trigger on this one:Any negative feedback, things I should be aware of, from long term owners here?Don't want to do the same mistake I did with the Full Metal SS Square: any issue with scratch resistance?(My MR-G is rock solid in that regard). Thanks in advance!
Edifice EQB-1100XDB-2AER
I purchased an ECB-10D-2A a few months ago and I am thoroughly satisfied with it. It certainly does not have all of the functionality or the sapphire crystal that the EQB-1100-XDB-2AER comes with, but it is also much less expensive.
EDIFICE EQB-1100XDB-2AER
• 1/4 of the price of the S5000 (!!) • Available in Europe (not JDM like the Manta) • Bluetooth (yes I'm one of those who value this functionnality and use it systematically ) • 100m water resistance (more than enough for a daily office watch) • Dual time + alarm = all I need for travelling (I much prefer the gentle "bip" of these watches to a smartphone to wake me up) • Bracelet seems a bit cheap and clasp is DEFINITELY cheap (pressed) lol • No MB6 but not an issue for me (much prefer BT) •...
How much for a full TI square?
G-shock Anonymous statement: Gshockaholism is a rough world to deal with. Yet nobody is too young (or too old) to have trouble with this addiction of wearing/buying more and more Gshocks. It is an addiction that can hit anyone and it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been wearing one, or how many you’ve been buying. It’s what G-shock does to your life, your loved-ones, and your bank account that counts.
