For the International Herald Tribune’s Italian supplement, Italy Daily. I became a regular contributor.

How is social media changing news?

Depends on your bubble. Reconfirms what you’ve figured out on your own, yet also gives bad actors a megaphone to try to control the narrative

To be fascinated by human nature and have the ability to bring a scene alive with words.

What's your favorite social network?

Philip Pullman

Why did you become a journalist?

By default as a native English-speaking author living in Venice. I don't consider myself a journalist -- I'm a writer.

No. I had teenage angst stories published in the literary magazine.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

"The Glory of Geometry* for LUXOS Magazine, where I blended Renaissance history into an article about contemporary luxury shopping for DFS.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Check facts, dig deep, and look your sources in the eyes. Find the right verb.

The time does not matter. What matters is an appreciation of the depth of knowledge and genuine sources I bring to a piece about Venice.

Negroni or Campari spritz

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

At the Adriatic Sea
