Why did you become a journalist?
By default as a native English-speaking author living in Venice. I don't consider myself a journalist -- I'm a writer.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. I had teenage angst stories published in the literary magazine.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
"The Glory of Geometry* for LUXOS Magazine, where I blended Renaissance history into an article about contemporary luxury shopping for DFS.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Check facts, dig deep, and look your sources in the eyes. Find the right verb.
When's the best time to pitch you?
The time does not matter. What matters is an appreciation of the depth of knowledge and genuine sources I bring to a piece about Venice.
