What was your first job as a journalist?
My first real job is my internship with Points Path. My first journalistic title was with my high school newspaper, The County Chronicle.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! Much more difficult to type on than a computer.
How is social media changing news?
I believe it helps news reach more people, but in a much more deceiving and biased way.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Carrie Bradshaw and Rory Gilmore.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a journalist is to act as a safeguard against the abuse of power.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
By email, text message, or call.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
CMS, WordPress, Creative Cloud (Adobe), AP Style, and Social Media.
What's your favorite social network?
LinkedIn, Slack, and Instagram!
Who do you wish followed you?
Stephen King! I'm a big reader. If not him, definitely one of my favorite singers, like Gracie Abrams or Audrey Hobert.
Why did you become a journalist?
To give a voice to those who can't speak for themselves.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes! I was the editor-in-chief and social media manager.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
An opinion article for my high school newspaper regarding my thoughts on rezoning in our county.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Practice! Build your portfolio! Get out there and show people your writing capabilities.
