What was your first job as a journalist?
I started out by covering daily recaps of various CSGO tournaments and honestly it was great to catch up with all the action and information.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No, I am afraid never got that opportunity, would definitely like to give it a shot though for the experience and feel at least.
How is social media changing news?
Lightning-fast updates, easier to read, real-time coverage, more shares, increased reach, but easier to spread false narratives.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
If the pitch is a form of leak, rumor, etc through my sources then via Telegram, WhatsApp, etc, if someone unknown is reaching out then email
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
A few that I use are Grammarly, Google Docs, Wordtune, Google, Google Sheets, and a few more.
What's your favorite social network?
I love to spend time on Twitter for work and Instagram for fun.
Why did you become a journalist?
The love for writing, combined with a passion for gaming and esports, along with a lucky opportunity, and here I am grinding away.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A professional CSGO player from India became a doctor in UK and helped many during COVID, covering that and running an exclusive interview.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be ready for the grind, it takes a lot of passion, maintain integrity, fact check twice and what you write thrice, keep things simple.
When's the best time to pitch you?
You can drop a pitch whenever I usually take a look at them when starting and ending my day.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
It is not one pitch in particular but all those spam pitch emails that I and pretty sure others as well receive on a daily basis.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I love to go on long runs, hit the gym - push/pull/leg gang, play some basketball/cricket, binge a show/watch a movie, scribble a poem.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Dot Esports, Dexerto, Ginx, IGN, Rock Paper Shotgun, Kotaku, Gamespot, Sportskeeda, Esports Insider, SBJ, and the list goes on.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
It is a waste of time, sort of a bad addiction, destroys the brain of a child, there is no future in it, and those who follow it are weird.
