Celixir London’s Biography

Celixir Brings Out Positive Study Results for Potential Cancer Gene Therapies Highlighting Cancer Cell Eduction in Colon and Breast Cancer Cell Lines

Celixir cell therapy, one of the most renowned firms in UK, indulged in the discovery and development of life-saving advanced therapies, has recently announced the publication of in vitro study results showcasing the probability of its novel cancer gene therapies to combat solid tumors. This is in line to Celixir’s development process of creating a new gene therapy platform whilst using an interfering RNA (siRNA).

The study has found that all four of Celixir’s siRNA molecules have minimized the number of live colon and breast cancer cells in vitro by a significant 50% within just seven days period whilst reducing their propagation and increasing apoptosis (programmed cell death). The same study has been published on PLOS and can easily be viewed on the respective journal’s website.

It must be mentioned that Celixir stem cells is developing four siRNA molecules which holds the potential to be used during the novel cancer gene therapies (programme CLXR-005). siRNA molecules holds the capability of blocking intracellular cancer targets that conventional medicines, like antibodies and small molecules doesn’t. All four of Celixir’s siRNA molecules can block the novel intracellular cancer target, STAT6, which is highly described as a hard to treat and drug-resistant cancers, such as colon, breast, lung, pancreatic and prostate cancers, and is characteristically linked with an amplified malignancy and poor prognosis. The siRNA molecules have now entered into the vivo studies.

Whilst talking in the same regards, Dr. Lee Chapman, Head of Oncology at Celixir, said: “These early results are promising and highlight the potential of Celixir’s oncology gene therapy pipeline to aid in the treatment of two of the most serious cancers, colon cancer and breast cancer.”The firm also includes sir Martin Evans celixir, who is a noble laureate and recognized for his research work in the Celixir stem cell therapy.

On the other side, even Ajan Reginald, Chief Executive Officer of Celixir, has expressed his happiness on the same development whilst stating: “We are encouraged by this initial data, which exemplifies the potential of siRNA as an anti-cancer technology. Our siRNA molecules block STAT-6, which is highly expressed in hard to treat, drug-resistant cancers and not typically targeted by antibodies or small molecules. This is the first publication from our exciting oncology portfolio of novel cell and gene therapies targeting drug-resistant targets.”
