Motivation Navies around the world aim at developing methodologies to better understand vessel behavior in the maritime domain in order to be effective in their operations. The first step for this understanding is the ability to track the vessel in real time. Vessels are tracked via satellite navigation system operating as part of a radionavigation-satellite service, e,g, GPS, Glonass, automatic identification systems (AIS), radar systems, and other sensor tools.
