'Guitarmaggedon': Allman Family Revival tour to honor Gregg Allman in Boston
In December 2017, Devon Allman assembled the inaugural Allman Family Revival as an all-star concert in celebration of the 70th birthday of his father, Gregg Allman, who had died earlier that year. Gregg, of course, was world-renowned as singer and keyboardist for the Allman Brothers Band for the better part of 45 years, as well as an accomplished songwriter and solo bandleader.
'Let's just take the opportunity': The Slip reunite for 8-show tour, including Cambridge
“The Slip” has always seemed a fitting name for a band whose exact sound is somewhat elusive. They’re a little bit jamband, a little bit arty, a little bit rootsy, shot through with a 2000s-era indie rock streak that wouldn’t make them out of place on a bill with, say, WIlco, or The Arcade Fire, though they sound like neither, especially when their improvisational tendencies kick in and they foist forth some serious jazz chops, or dissolve into a noisy, guitar-centric jam.

Spectra Alliance Helps Enable Zero Trust
Zero Trust is not something you purchase. Zero Trust is a security strategy you build out using the working assumption that there are no safe network zones, no perimeters, no safe users, and no safe devices. The Spectra Alliance helps enable a Zero Trust model across the scope of six elements including applications, data, networks, infrastructure, identities, and devices.

The Right Steps to SASE: Understand Where You’re Going
The following is an excerpt from Netskope’s recent book Designing a SASE Architecture for Dummies. This is the first in a series of seven posts detailing a set of incremental steps for implementing a well-functioning SASE architecture. When undertaking a new project, the need to deliver quantifiable results today (or at least very quickly!) is a significant challenge facing a CIO, CISO, or anyone with high-level responsibility for enterprise networking and security.
Sibling revelry: Black Crowes' Chris and Rich Robinson kick off tour in Boston
By Chad Berndtson/For The Patriot Ledger Thursday Feb 20, 2020 at 10:30 AM Feb 20, 2020 at 10:35 AM The 11-show run of Brothers of a Feather - a moniker that The Black Crowes Chris and Rich Robinson have adopted for acoustic sets - kicks off in Boston. Every few years, long-feuding siblings Chris and Rich Robinson seem to put aside their much-publicized animosity just long enough to remember that they’re one of rock’s most formidable pairs.

Music: Country rock pioneers Poco to perform in Cohasset
By Chad Berndtson/For The Patriot Ledger Tuesday Aug 13, 2019 at 2:03 AM Every fan of country rock eventually gets to Poco, one of the originators of the loosely grouped genre and, one of its founding members maintains, the first to put a pedal steel guitar front-and-center in a rock context. That Poco isn’t nearly as well known as some of its contemporaries is one of fate’s many curiosities.

By Chad Berndtson/For The Patriot Ledger Monday May 13, 2019 at 2:51 PM Nils Lofgren has enough memories and experiences to fill 10 rock ’n’ roll lifetimes. That’s what happens when you’ve been a mainstay of Crazy Horse, Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and countless others with a resume dating back five decades — you’ve played with what feels like just about everybody. “I first hit the road at 17,” says Lofgren, 67. “I’ve had some great opportunities. I always want to make more records than I do.

Launching a legacy: Allman Betts band's first tour stops in Plymouth

Cisco On Networking: 'You Get What You Pay For'
architecture networking It's quite the opposite, argued Cisco: while commodity networking products might seem cheaper on an acquisition cost by acquisition cost basis, its single-vendor network vision is in fact what will preserve companies for the long haul by future-proofing their networks and offering better total cost of ownership (TCO).
Music: Lucero bringing Memphis rock to Boston
“In the beginning we didn’t expect to be here 20 years later, or, we expected to be rich and ruling the world,” said Ben Nichols, singer and guitarist for Lucero. “We’re somewhere in between – there’s no limos with hot tubs in them, alas, but we’ve found out it’s better without that stuff.

Music: Blueswoman Dana Fuchs to perform in Plymouth
Dana Fuchs’ new album “Love Lives On” came from a very personal place. Reeling from the deaths of several family members in a short span over the past few years – and also celebrating the birth of her son – she threw herself into music – more, she said, out of necessity than anything else. “It was almost like I had no control over it. It was painful, and it needed to come out,” the singer said.

Throwback rockers Greta Van Fleet coming to Boston
“We woke up one morning to a call from our manager and he said, get up, there is a call coming in from England and we should be prepared to answer it,” said Sam Kiszka, bassist for fast-rising rockers Greta Van Fleet. “We were all sitting there, and the call came in and we put it on speaker, and a voice comes over the line: ‘Hey, it’s Elton.’” As in Sir Elton John, who plucked the Michigan foursome to perform with him at an Oscars party this year.
