BACKGROUND In the field of teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), the teaching practicum is usually a pivotal component of TESOL preparation programs. It provides an opportunity for both pre- and in-service teachers to develop and refine their knowledge, skills, and dispositions in real classroom settings, while also shaping their sense of efficacy to better serve English learners (ELs) (Faez & Valeo, 2012; Richards & Crookes, 1988; Santos, Olsher, & Abeywickrama, 2015).
