A general strategy for access intrinsically antioxidant polyolefins
Abstract The long-term stability of various polyolefins relies on antioxidants. Traditional methods such as physical blending or chemical modification often suffer from non-uniform dispersion, migration, or lack of universality, especially for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE).
Mechanically Triggered Chemical Recyclable Polyethylene-Like Materials
1 Introduction Polyethylene (PE) materials are the most produced synthetic polymer worldwide, with widespread applications in packaging, infrastructure, and consumer products [1-3]. Its exceptional chemical resistance, mechanical robustness, and processability underpin its utility but also contribute to one of its greatest environmental drawbacks: extreme persistence in the environment.

Light, Heat, and Force‐Responsive Polyolefins
1 Introduction Stimuli-responsive polymers have attracted widespread interest.[1-5] For example, external stimuli such as light, heat, or electricity can alter a polymer's internal energy and lead to macroscopic movement or deformation,[6-12] making these polymers useful as artificial muscles[13, 14] or shape memory materials.[15, 16] Selected polymers can also undergo light, heat, or mechanical force-induced discoloration, giving them applications in the fields of optical rewritable data...

A general strategy for heterogenizing olefin polymerization catalysts and the synthesis of polyolefins and composites - Nature Communications
Abstract The heterogenization of homogeneous metal complexes on solid supports presents an efficient strategy for bridging homogeneous catalysts with industrially-preferred heterogeneous catalysts; however, a series of drawbacks restrict their implementation in olefin polymerization, particularly for copolymerization with polar comonomers.
Polyethylenes enjoy wide applications due to their many superior properties. The incorporation of some polar functional groups into the otherwise nonpolar polyethylene backbone can significantly improve many important properties and further broaden their applications. During the past few decades, many catalyst systems have been demonstrated with the capabilities of copolymerizing ethylene with polar monomers.
An Ionic Cluster Strategy for Performance Improvements and Product Morphology Control in Metal-Catalyzed Olefin-Polar Monomer Copolymerization

Herein, an ionic cluster strategy was designed to control the product morphology during the synthesis of polar-functionalized polyolefins via precipitation polymerization.

Systematic Studies on (Co)Polymerization of Polar Styrene Monomers with Palladium Catalysts
Polymerization of polar styrene monomers and their copolymerization with ethylene are of great interest in both academia and industry. In comparison with hundreds of literature reports on palladium catalyzed (co)polymerization using polar vinyl monomers, studies on palladium catalyzed (co)polymerization using polar styrene monomers have received much less attention and remains almost unexplored.
Palladium-Catalyzed Dimerization of Vinyl Ethers: Mechanism, Catalyst Optimization, and Polymerization Applications
The electron-rich nature of vinyl ethers (CH2═CHOR) enables their versatile reactivity patterns with transition metal catalysts. Furthermore, they are highly attractive monomers for the synthesis of many polymers and copolymers. However, it is challenging to incorporate these substrates in transition metal-catalyzed olefin polymerization due to various side reactions such as cationic polymerization and β-OR elimination.

Palladium-Catalyzed Direct Synthesis of Various Branched, Carboxylic Acid-Functionalized Polyolefins: Characterization, Derivatization, and Properties
Ethylene-co-acrylic acid (E–AA) copolymers are typically produced via high-pressure free radical copolymerization and have great industrial importance because of their many applications. The radical polymerization mechanism usually leads to highly branched products with poor mechanical properties. Transition-metal-catalyzed E–AA copolymerization represents a direct and economical route to access these copolymers with potentially better control over their microstructures and material properties.
A Versatile Ligand Platform for Palladium- and Nickel-catalyzed Ethylene Copolymerizations with Polar Monomers
The ability to carry out transition-metal catalyzed copolymerizations of olefins with polar monomers is a grand challenge in the field of olefin polymerization. Palladium has been the dominant player in this field, while its low-cost nickel counterpart has only achieved very limited success. In this contribution, we report the synthesis and evaluation of a highly versatile platform based on diphosphazane monoxide ligands.

Molecular weight and molecular-weight distribution are two critical parameters that determine the properties of a polyolefin material. In this contribution, we report the synthesis and characterization of a series of 2-iminopyridine-N-oxide nickel complexes; these catalysts demonstrate very high activities (up to 107 g mol –1 h–1) at very low methylaluminoxane loadings (80 equiv) during ethylene polymerization.
Influence of Polyethylene Glycol Unit on Palladium and Nickel Catalyzed Ethylene Polymerization and Copolymerization
The transition-metal-catalyzed copolymerization of olefins with polar functionalized comonomers represents a major challenge in the field of olefin polymerization.
