Conducting public interviews in Asia for my own media outlet several years back.

Social media has improved the bandwidth of news as well as the speed at which news is disseminated but can be negative at times

What does it mean to be a journalist?
It is an essential responsibility to convey public opinion and avail past, present and future information in a way that can equip people.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Via email, LinkedIn or my social media accounts
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Laptop, phone, adobe premiere pro and WordPress
What's your favorite social network?
WhatsApp. So convenient for communication.

Why did you become a journalist?
Interviewing! An affinity for uncovering mindsets, strategies and life stories of celebrities as well as regular everyday people.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. I was more of a math guy and was shortlisted for high end academic competitions.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Interviewing and writing about Oprah Winfrey's co star
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Read from established sources as much as possible to identify which writing style suits them. Start small by even doing volunteer work
When's the best time to pitch you?
Weekdays during work hours, 8am to 5pm, EST.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
To cover Soulja Boy and his social media app, Kandiid. Plus covering Antoine Mclaughlin, the CEO of Kandiid.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
To do a promotional story on a very risky business venture where the the person who requested was fishing for investors.
What's your favorite drink?
Peach juice
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In work meetings building connections mostly with prospective interview guests

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I only interview celebrities.
