Poem by Charles Pierre: The Reflecting Pool
Poem by Charles Pierre: The Reflecting Pool October 17, 2024 by Blogfinger The Reflecting Pool By Charles Pierre An invisible insect breaks the sheen of a tree-rimmed pool, as widening rings move out from the center to awaken the April images reflected there: the yellow and green of leaves, the purple and white of flowers, rippling in circles through streaks of sun, undulating as one across the water, from the single touch of an insect, whose quiet influence extends to every inch of wooded...

A poem by Charles Pierre: “Boardwalk.” By popular demand. September 15, 2024 by Blogfinger BOARDWALK By Charles Pierre. This splintered swath with its burning masses, where nothing can grow, hides a cool path of sand and grasses directly below, a place of laughs and eager kisses only the teens know. From the author’s 2014 collection Coastal Moments, Hayland Press, New York.
Poem by Charles Pierre: Sculpture
Poem by Charles Pierre: Sculpture November 26, 2023 by Blogfinger SCULPTURE By Charles Pierre In winter, my tongue and teeth chinker through cracked lips, each poem a carving of white breath without marble’s heft—- the chiseled lines dying to silence, shrouded in mist.
A poem by Charles Pierre: “October Rosebush”
Hi Paul: Greetings from Manhattan. Despite the abundant harvest and brilliant foliage, autumn in our mid-Atlantic region is, for me, a sad reflective time, with its own somber music. Here is the poem, “October Rosebush,” from my 2008 collection, Father of Water.

Fire Dance by Charles Pierre…
Fire Dance by Charles Pierre… April 23, 2023 by Blogfinger Fire Dance By Charles Pierre This flame shimmers above a candle, dancing to music that can't be heard, a true partner of the dark, swaying with sinuous steps through the still night, trailing the candle while it burns down to the wick's end, where the last wet wax pools and flickers, and the dying fire throws a few wild shadows on the wall, before leaping as a jet of smoke that vanishes into the blackness. A Poem by Charles Pierre: “The Bell Buoy.” Sounds of the ocean revisited from 2015.
Hi Paul: Greetings from Manhattan. There is a common aid to navigation — often used in coastal waters — that has always had a special meaning for me as a poet. Here is “The Bell Buoy,” a poem from my 2008 collection, Father of Water. Best wishes, Charles Pierre BELL BUOY By Charles Pierre. There is something singular in the rhythms of the bell buoy, as it rings in the wake of an unknown vessel already passing on to its destination.
