Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not? No, far too long of a listen, II would much sooner recommend someone listen to the history of rome podcast before this book. What was most disappointing about Edward Gibbon’s story? He often seems to go off topic, in to long winded stories of little or no value to the overall book. The book is written for an audience many generations dead, with language and references that are not easily picked up.
