Why did you become a journalist?

I have always been passionate about writing and I saw journalism as a way for me to use my passion to positively impact the people around me.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

When I am not writing, I generally like to spend my time reading outside and spending time with my family.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I am a big fan of the Washington Post and the Associated Press.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

A lot of people presume that all political writing has a bias and that it there are no political writers without a partisan lean.
