Large-scale skin metagenomics reveals extensive prevalence, coordination, and functional adaptation of skin microbiome dermotypes across body sites
Abstract While skin microbiome studies have increasingly highlighted its importance in health and disease, our understanding of inter-individual heterogeneity in structure and function remains limited, impacting the ability to develop microbiome-based stratification and therapeutics.

Large-scale skin metagenomics reveals extensive prevalence, coordination, and functional adaptation of skin microbiome dermotypes across body sites
Abstract The human skin microbiome is increasingly recognized to influence skin health, immune function and disease susceptibility. However, large-scale, multi-site metagenomic studies in the general population remain scarce, limiting our understanding of the full diversity and variability of skin microbial communities across different individuals and body sites.

A Genome-Wide View of the Transcriptome Dynamics of Fresh-Cut Potato Tubers
Abstract : Fresh fruits and vegetable products are easily perishable during postharvest handling due to enzymatic browning reactions. This phenomenon has contributed to a significant loss of food. To reveal the physiological changes in fresh-cut potato tubers at the molecular level, a transcriptome analysis of potato tubers after cutting was carried out. A total of 10,872, 10,449, and 11,880 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified at 4 h, 12 h and 24 h after cutting, respectively.
Publisher Correction: Overview of the Microbiome Among Nurses study (Micro-N) as an example of prospective characterization of the microbiome within cohort studies
Correction to: Nature Protocols https://doi.org/10.1038/s41596-021-00519-z, published online 21 April 2021. In Figure 2 in the version of this article initially published, the label “Hamilton Bios automated storage at −180 °C” was incorrect. The temperature should have been shown as “−80 °C”. Overview of the Microbiome Among Nurses study (Micro-N) as an example of prospective characterization of the microbiome within cohort studies
Abstract A lack of prospective studies has been a major barrier for assessing the role of the microbiome in human health and disease on a population-wide scale. To address this significant knowledge gap, we have launched a large-scale collection targeting fecal and oral microbiome specimens from 20,000 women within the Nurses’ Health Study II cohort (the Microbiome Among Nurses study, or Micro-N).
