Exploring the Impact of Nitrogen Doping on the Optical Properties of Carbon Dots Synthesized from Citric Acid
4. Discussion The target of this study is to unveil the role of N-doping in CDs by comparing the morphostructural and optical features of undoped CDs derived from the thermal treatment of exclusively citric acid to the ones of N-doped CDs obtained by adding urea to the synthesis. The analysis of the XRD spectra indicates a highly disordered structure in both of the samples, with spacing similar to the ones of graphite with stacking faults (turbostratic carbons) [,].
IJMS | Free Full-Text | Photocatalytic Performance of Undoped and Al-Doped ZnO Nanoparticles in the Degradation of Rhodamine B under UV-Visible Light:The Role of Defects and Morphology
1. Introduction Based on the world water development report 2020 [1], among the most critical contemporary global issues, the conservation of water resources associated with global climate change is of high environmental importance. Water resources are currently contaminated with various organic, inorganic and microbial pollutants.
