The edge of meaning
I once read a history of the phenomenon of war. The author said that, though we have archaeological evidence of wars many centuries ago, often we don’t know who was involved or what they were fighting about. Thousands of people like me— with families and friends, dreams and desires, laughter and tears— fought over things we know nothing about. Things they felt were worth killing and dying for are lost to the mists of time. We don’t know their names or stories; we just know they are forgotten.
#students #internationalstudents #canadaimmigration…
In today’s, Saturday’s The Globe and Mail Editorial headline reads “Canada needs a plan, not a numbers game”. Discussion Starter • #1 • 27 m ago Hi, I've got an older Denon AVR-1713 (which does 1080p only) and I recently hooked it up to a new Sony xbr65900h 4K TV. I've got a Roku that is capable of outputting 4K, and of course the TV itself has a bunch of apps. In order to get 4K video I ran the Roku HDMI into the TV and enabled HDMI ARC from the TV to the receiver for audio. I've also got an optical cable from the TV to the receiver. This only supports DD, not DTS.
Snakes can make friends but they’re fussy
Snakes and reptilia in general weren’t even thought to have the part of the brain that controls love. Or falling in love. But the anecdotal evidence has ever been otherwise, showing scientists to be fools in anti-love. Now a study done at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada has proved that garter snakes form friendships. With each other, that is.
