Owners' Thread - Sony kdl40ex403 discussion, help & experiences
#1 Because so many people seem to have snapped this bargain TV up I thought we may as well have an owners thread to discuss settings and connections etc. #2 For anyone on Virgin cable for their internet access, note that you'll need to connect this TV via a router - normally whatever router you were using before for other PCs in the house. In my case this meant moving the (wired not wireless) router from my son's room to a location near the TV. The cable modem was already located near the TV.

#1 My wife and I have done about a dozen cruises since 2009 and we really enjoy them. We're currently on our first cruise since the covid pandemic and it hasn't gone well. My wife tested positive for covid on Friday and was sent to a quarantine cabin for 6 days. The service there is appalling, you wait ages for room service with a limited menu and you could die in your cabin and no one would know. Even people with asthma are left without support.

Answered - JVC LED smart hd TV
#1 model number LT-24C660(c)/LT-24C661(c) Our tv is suddenly switching itself on and off, and changing channels as it does so. Sometimes there is no picture, just sound! Has it had it or is it repairable? It cost under £200 new. #2 Same here - it's a bedroom TV and, over the last few days, it's started OK (JVC logo etc) then runs for 20-30 seconds, before resetting itself (back to standby then JVC logo again etc). I'm wondering if an over the air update has maybe screwed it up.
JVC UX-D150: how to replace valves?
I am very interested in the JVC UX-D150 listed on Curry web site. But I am not sure if the valves died can I replace them myself? Valves (thermionic valves, aka vacuum tubes) are always plug-in devices so, as long as you can disassemble to a stage where you can access the valves, yes.

Have a problem with my RDR-HXD1065 which was working fine until I selected to record a series (which I've done before). There is 42Gb remaining on the drive and I suspect selecting the series recording will exceed the remaining disk space.

that could be the solution rodders. i got this reply from my kitchen company who installed the lights, it may fix it, ill post if it does: I have spoken to the lighting company and they are going to send replacement drivers for the lights. There are 2, one for each set of 3 lights. Once they have been changed (you will need your electrician to do this) please send the old ones back to me at the showroom.

Thermostatic shower valve problem
I have concealed thermostatic shower valves but the main shower is not delivering suitably hot water. The boiler is working (copious hot water at the taps), and looking at youtube it seems that there is an insert controller which could be the cause.

Can't access menu, A/V selection etc on Philips 20" apartment LCD
Hi, I am renting an apartment that has a Philips 20HF5474/10 20" LCD, but I can't figure out how to do anything with it. Turn it on, press MENU on the remote and I get "Not Available" on the screen. Nothing in the manual about that. I've also connected a DVI-I cable to it (and also tried AV cables) from my PC but I can't figure out how to change to a different AV input selection, doesn't seem to be anything about that either in the manual.
