Originally hailing from the Pacific Northwest, I have called South Korea home for nearly two decades now. Over that time I have carved out a niche as a travel writer, penning there books ("Dispatches from the Peninsula," "The Worst Motorcycle in Laos," and "The Cuttlefish") and my award winning work had appeared in National Geographic Traveller (UK), The Telegraph, CNN Travel, Bradt, Wanderlust, Fodor's Travel, Condé Nast Traveler, and many others.
I also write opinion and analysis pieces for outlets such as Asia Times and Korea Pro. I live in the coastal city of Busan with my wife and a houseful of animals.
