Chris Cain Hospice’s Biography
Chris Cain has spent nearly three decades working in long-term care and hospice. He has held senior roles where he managed hiring, training, team building, patient care quality, financial oversight, marketing, regulatory requirements, and business operations. Over his career, he has helped start several assisted living facilities, hospice agencies, and a hospital.
As CEO, CFO, and Administrator of St. Gabriel’s Hospice & Palliative Care, he established an approach focused on “People Caring for People.” Chris Cain of Clear Fork Group and his team delivered care that supported not only the physical needs but also the spiritual and emotional well-being of patients. Since 2012, he has expanded St. Gabriel’s into a 300-patient hospice agency with over 200 employees across Texas cities, including Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock, Houston, San Angelo, Corpus Christi, and Tyler. His responsibilities include budgeting, HR policies, recruiting, strategic planning, accounting, and sales management.
Earlier in his career, he served as Regional Director of Operations at a management company, overseeing four Alzheimer’s care communities in North Texas. He improved census by 14% in the first quarter, raised net operating income above 90% in most sites, and stabilized staffing and expenses. As CEO of a Medicare-licensed hospice agency, he achieved profit margins in the 20% range, reached break-even within eight months, expanded to 100 patients, and opened locations in San Antonio and Austin.
Chris Cain Hospice has also been Executive Director, Area Director of Sales and Marketing, Marketing Representative, and Hospital Administrator. In those positions, he guided hospital construction and openings, led long-term care facilities across several states, and developed strong referral networks.
Chris Cain Fort Worth earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology from Southern Nazarene University. He and his wife, Tami, have children and grandchildren. A devout Catholic, he values compassion in his professional life. Outside work, he owns a small ranch with Texas Longhorn cattle and Quarter Horses and enjoys sports, boating, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
