Christine Hatfield’s Biography

Christine Hatfield has served as a producer for Illinois Public Media's talk show "The 21st" since July 2022. She previously served as Wisconsin Public Radio's Second Century Fellow.

Earlier, she graduated from University of Illinois Springfield's Public Affairs Reporting program, and served as WGLT and WCBU's PAR intern for the first half of 2021.

Before that, she graduated from Ball State University with a degree in journalism and telecommunications in May 2020, and during her undergraduate experience, she reported for WNIJ in DeKalb and Ball State's own Indiana Public Radio.

She was a Fulbright Summer Institute Scholar in the summer of 2017 at University of Westminster in London, where she learned more about media production techniques; more recently, she was selected as an Alternate candidate for a Fulbright award to study media and political science at Royal Holloway, University of London. Christine is pursuing a career in public radio, but is also interested in work in the realms of writing, editing, and voiceovers. In her spare time, she enjoys board games, video games, and especially 80s music, and to that end, she's currently working on expanding her vinyl collection.
