What does it mean to be a journalist?

To tell the truth as you perceive it and being transparent about your level of objectivity.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

Not much about climate change & energy, which I mainly focus on, is funny to be frank. But #WindNotGas raised a chortle.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Tweetdeck, Topsy, Google Analytics, CartoDB, Highcharts, Infogr.am, Facebook, Crowdbooster, Mailchimp.

Who do you wish followed you?

People who care about climate change, health, energy and @elonmusk

Why did you become a journalist?

It used to be to inspire people to be active and healthy, and now it's more to inform and counteract spin in the energy and climate debate.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Persist.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Tuesday mornings before our weekly editorial meeting in the afternoon.
