Finding common ground: The global Anthropocene Curriculum experiment
The daunting crisis of the Anthropocene cannot be adequately addressed without re-envisioning our conceptual approach to knowledge formation. This background essay to the double special issue on the Mississippi River provides an account on the Anthropocene Curriculum (AC) initiative, the general framework in which the Mississippi. An Anthropocene River project was devised and implemented.

Science or Strategy? The Rejection of the Anthropocene Epoch Demands Transparency
1 Introduction When geologists reject a proposal to formalize humanity's planetary transformation as a new geological epoch, the implications extend far beyond stratigraphy. In March 2024, the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) upheld the Subcommission on Quaternary Stratigraphy's (SQS) decision to formally reject the Anthropocene Working Group’s (AWG) proposal (Waters et al., 2024) to include the Anthropocene as a new unit in the Geological Time Scale (GTS).
Time depth: Jean Epstein, Michel Serres and operational model time
This chapter makes a case for unscaling the times of Anthropocene phenomena, such as geological vastness, human agency and past, present and future climate disaster, through the conceptual liquefaction and blending of different time regimes provided by the works of Jean Epstein and Michel Serres. It does so by relating their intellectual concepts and reflections to the rise of electronics and computer-aided simulation.
Trying to assemble an “Anthropocene Curriculum”
by Christoph Rosol, Mar 15, 2014 This event is to be held November 14-22, 2014 Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW), Berlin The Anthropocene—or however you choose to name the current era of environmental transition on a planetary scale—is a more-than-real challenge for human civilization. A crucial aspect of this challenge is to ferret out and create new forms of collectives.
