Working at a small, local newspaper as the Community section editor and copy editor. It was a tremendous experience; I learned to think fast!

Looking for the truth and making it available in a way that people find accessible and engaging.

I like to receive an email at christy@writingrealestate.com. I like a written brief to ensure expectations are kept clear on both sides.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I wrote a thoughtful piece for Inman on investing in post-disaster markets following the hurricanes in Puerto Rico.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write. Write. Write. None of the theory matters if you're not writing. Once you've written, pitch, pitch, pitch.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
An awesome brief with the voice required and links to analogous pieces to give a sense of how they viewed the ideal article on that topic.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Cooking or playing with my English Bulldog, Brick.
