Asthma control after recovery from mild to moderate COVID-19: from Omicron BA.2 to XBB– from a cohort in a university hospital in Hong Kong - BMC Pulmonary Medicine

Among the 221 adult patients with asthma recruited in the initial study, 27 refused to participate in the follow-up study. Among the 194 patients who were followed up, 59 had COVID-19 in the follow-up period and 5 required hospitalizations for COVID-19. This is illustrated in Fig. 1. After excluding the 5 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, 189 patients were included with mean age of 57.7 ± 15.4 years. There were 70 (37.0%) male patients and 154 (81.4%) were never smoker.
