Exploring Quinazoline Nitro-Derivatives as Potential Antichagasic Agents: Synthesis and In Vitro Evaluation
1. Introduction Chagas disease (CD), or American trypanosomiasis, is a neglected tropical disease classified as a zoonosis caused by the hemoflagellate parasite, Trypanosoma cruzi [1]. This protozoan is transmitted to humans either by a blood-sucking reduviid triatomine as primary vector, congenital mother to child during delivery, transfusion of infected blood, organ transplantation from infected donors and laboratory accidents [2,3].

Phenothiazine‐based virtual screening, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics of new trypanothione reductase inhibitors of Trypanosoma cruzi
Abstract T. cruzi Phenothiazine derivatives can unselectively inhibit the trypanothione-dependent antioxidant system enzyme trypanothione reductase (TR). A virtual screening of 2163 phenothiazine derivatives from the ZINC15 and PubChem databases docked on the active site of TR showed that 285 compounds have higher affinity than the natural ligand trypanothione disulfide.
OU Chief COVID Officer discusses strained regional hospital capacities, booster shot availability in update
OU Chief COVID Officer Dale Bratzler outlined the populations most likely to benefit from booster shots and regional hospital capacities in a Wednesday live stream. Bratzler said he recommends immunocompromised populations — which include cancer patients currently receiving treatment, people with HIV and bone marrow transplant patients — receive the booster shot. Booster shots are available to individuals eight months after they are fully vaccinated.
OU Health Services announces increased COVID-19 testing capacity as university investigates options
OU Health Services announced this week it would be expanding COVID-19 testing capacity due to a rise in demand, and spiking cases across Norman. “We anticipate a high volume of calls this morning. We appreciate your patience as we assist each caller & increase our testing capacity. Thanks for trusting us with your healthcare,” OU Health Services tweeted Monday. We anticipate a high volume of calls this morning. We appreciate your patience as we assist each caller & increase our testing capacity.
