Coleman Creed Ledbetter was born in Waller, Texas, and grew up surrounded by wide open land, horses, and strong family traditions. His childhood was shaped by life on a horse ranch just down the dirt road from his grandparents. Days were filled with chores that taught him discipline, and evenings often ended with fishing or exploring the property. That environment gave him an appreciation for steady work, a respect for nature, and a lasting bond with the values of simple living. For Coleman, Waller is more than just the place where he grew up—it is where he learned the importance of responsibility, honesty, and community. These lessons continue to influence his choices in education, work, and daily life.
After graduating from Waller High School in 2021, Coleman began his college education at Texas Tech before transferring to South Plains College. He plans to complete his degree in 2026. His focus for the future is clear: he intends to become an electrician. Coleman Ledbetter views education as a means of acquiring practical skills that can be applied throughout life. He respects the trades because they involve creating something tangible with his own hands. For him, training as an electrician is not only a career goal but also a step toward independence, while still leaving room for other creative outlets.
Music has been a natural part of Coleman’s story since childhood. Family gatherings often included guitars around a campfire, where his father and grandmother played and encouraged him to join in. Over time, what began as a tradition evolved into a passion. Today, Coleman writes songs, plays the guitar, and sings in a way that fits naturally into country music. His connection to the genre stems from his background, his Texas roots, and the experiences that have shaped him. He has even taken his music to the stage, performing live in Lubbock, including a show at Bashas, a place known for supporting new artists. In his songwriting, he often draws on the outdoors and the people he loves, finding in music a balance of creativity and grounding.
Outside of school and music, Coleman spends much of his free time outdoors. Fishing, hunting, and surfing are all parts of his lifestyle rather than pastimes he picked up later. Growing up in Texas instilled in him an appreciation for open spaces, and traveling to Costa Rica at a young age introduced him to surfing, which has since become one of his favorite activities. These experiences bring him balance, allowing him to return to his studies and music with a fresh perspective.
Work experience has also played a significant role in shaping Coleman’s outlook. At Epic Energy, he worked as a construction assistant, gaining practical knowledge of job sites and understanding the effort required in tough environments. Those lessons taught him the importance of teamwork, persistence, and attention to detail. Additionally, he assists in managing his family’s rental properties in Costa Rica and Lubbock, Texas. His responsibilities range from maintenance tasks to customer service, providing him with opportunities to develop adaptability and problem-solving skills that continue to serve him well.
Service is another area where Coleman has invested his time and expertise. He has participated in numerous mission trips and volunteer projects, many of which focused on building and improving communities. With UMARMY, he joined in construction efforts that supported families in need. At a women’s shelter, he worked on creating a children’s library designed to provide comfort and learning for families. During his time in Costa Rica, he volunteered with Cepia, a nonprofit that focuses on education and cultural development. These experiences reinforced for him that service is not only important but also a privilege.
Family plays a central role in Coleman’s life. Much of his creativity and work ethic comes from those who came before him, and he continues to carry those values forward. His dog, Lola, is also a steady presence in his daily life, always by his side, whether at the ranch, by the water, or at home. His family and friends provide perspective, reminding him to keep balance while pursuing his goals.
Coleman has also extended his presence into the digital space. Through his website, colemancreed.com, as well as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, he shares his music and personal projects. These platforms allow him to connect with others while presenting himself in an authentic and approachable manner.
Today, Coleman works to balance two important goals. On one hand, he is committed to completing his education and becoming an electrician by 2026. On the other hand, he continues to write, perform, and grow in country music. He believes that both can coexist, one providing stability and the other fueling his creativity.
Looking ahead, Coleman sees his future built on a combination of work and creativity. Whether performing music, working on a job site, or surfing in Costa Rica, he carries forward the values of family, hard work, and the outdoors. His story is still unfolding, but it is marked by purpose, determination, and authenticity.
