Black and Latinx populations need help recovering economically from the pandemic
As states and localities move to reopen their economies, issues of racial and economic justice again rush to the fore. The burden of the pandemic, both the health and financial impacts, has fallen most heavily on African Americans and other people of color. Unless clear and direct economic policy measures are put in place, the health and economic burden of reopening will likely irreparably and inequitably penalize communities of color.

Get Counted in the 2020 Census; help close the Racial Wealth Gap As New Yorkers face another week at home, it can feel like our civic obligation ends at the front door. A cascade of crises is forcing America to confront the racism of its past and present—from overt acts of hate to subtler injustices that shape our society. Over 16 weeks, City Limits and Enterprise Community Partners will feature prominent New Yorkers' views on how race and housing policy intersect to create a legacy each of us must confront, and the way forward we should take together. These are not necessarily views we endorse.
NY Slant
In early February I wrote in New York Slant about how “change” is a recurring theme for those of us working in community development and housing. As a native of Bedford-Stuyvesant I have witnessed dramatic changes over the past 10 to 15 years that have forced many low- to moderate-income families, often African- and Caribbean-American, out of northern and central Brooklyn.
