Acute effects of bench press conditioning performed with different velocity-loss thresholds on punch performance in elite adolescent boxers
Abstract Background: Velocity-loss (VL) thresholds may help regulate the balance between potentiation and fatigue during post-activation performance enhancement protocols; however, their effects on boxing-specific performance remain unclear. This study investigated the acute effects of bench press conditioning regulated by different VL thresholds on straight-punch performance in adolescent boxers.
Acute biomechanical responses to stroboscopic vision during change-of-direction tasks in elite rugby athletes
Abstract Introduction: Stroboscopic vision (SV), characterized by intermittent visual occlusion, has been proposed as a novel perceptual stimulus to challenge sensorimotor integration in sport. This study aimed to investigate the acute effects of SV on lower-limb biomechanics during rugby-specific side-cutting manoeuvers.
Domain-specific effects of NAD + precursors on fatigue and functional performance: a systematic review and network meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Fatigue is a multidimensional syndrome involving the cognitive and physical domains, and NAD+-dependent biological energy dysfunction is considered a key mechanism. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of niacinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) precursors in cognitive, motor and perceived fatigue domains using a domain-based network meta-analysis (NMA).
Comparison of adaptations to four weeks of continuous hypoxic training between healthy men with lower and higher initial aerobic fitness
Abstract Background: Continuous hypoxic treadmill training increases the physiological load of aerobic exercise, but it remains unclear whether baseline aerobic fitness influences short-term adaptation. This study compared the responses of healthy men with lower and higher initial aerobic fitness to four weeks of continuous treadmill training performed in normobaric hypoxia equivalent to a simulated altitude of 2500 m.
Frontiers | Acute beetroot juice supplementation augments early neuromuscular performance after blood flow restriction: a crossover study in elite basketball players
1 Introduction Vertical jump performance is a critical indicator of lower limb explosive power in athletes (1). For example, elite basketball players execute 40–60 jumps per game, underlining its importance for success (2). Pre-competition warm-up protocols are therefore essential to optimize neuromuscular function and enhance key athletic capacities such as jumping and agility, while also reducing injury risk (3–9).
Effects of Concurrent Training on Exercise Capacity and Quality of Life in Older Adult Patients with COPD: A Bayesian Pairwise and Dose–Response Meta-Analysis

Effects of 4-week continuous hypoxic training on skeletal muscle oxygenation using near-infrared spectroscopy and functional magnetic resonance imaging | European Journal of Applied Physiology
Abstract This study aimed to investigate the effects of 4-week continuous hypoxic training (CHT) on skeletal muscle oxygenation and hemodynamics, assessed using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI-BOLD). Twenty-six healthy male participants were randomly assigned to CHT group (FiO₂ = 14.8–15.3%) or a normoxic training (CON) group (FiO₂ = 20.3–20.8%).

Effects of step lengths on biomechanical characteristics of lower extremity during split squat movement
1 Introduction The optimal exercise selection for improving, maintaining, and enhancing functional capacities involves aligning the demands of an exercise with the specific needs of the client or patient (Flanagan et al., 2003; Wu et al., 2020). Using an exercise for training or evaluation requires a full understanding of the mechanical demands imposed on the musculoskeletal system.
Exploring exercise-driven inhibition of pyroptosis: novel insights into treating diabetes mellitus and its complications
1 Introduction Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic and progressive disease that is increasing in frequency at an unprecedented rate. Approximately 537 million individuals worldwide are afflicted by diabetes, with a projected prevalence of over 625 million by 2045 (1). Currently, alterations in environment and lifestyle factors such as diet, being overweight and physical inactivity contributed to the increasing number of the eventuality of DM and its associated complications (2).
