Pairing without γ -pocket in the La 3 Ni 2 O 7 thin film
Abstract High-temperature superconductivity in La3Ni2O7 ultrathin films at ambient pressure, while the γ-pocket previously proposed to be crucial for superconductivity in La3Ni2O7 may not exist in the Fermi surface of the film, raising questions about the pairing mechanism. Using density functional theory + U calculations, we obtain a band structure without the γ-pocket and study pairing via weak- and strong-coupling approaches.
Possible liquid-nitrogen-temperature superconductivity driven by perpendicular electric field in the single-bilayer film of La3Ni2O7 at ambient pressure | Nature Communications
Abstract Recently, high-temperature superconductivity (HTSC) is found in the La3Ni2O7/SrLaAlO4 ultrathin film with critical temperature Tc above the McMillan limit at ambient pressure (AP). It is eager to enhance Tc of La3Ni2O7 at AP. We propose that a perpendicular electric field strongly enhances Tc in the single-bilayer film of La3Ni2O7 at AP.
Interplay of two ${E}_{g}$ orbitals in superconducting ${\mathrm{La}}_{3}{\mathrm{Ni}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{7}$ under pressure
The discovery of high-Tc superconductivity (SC) in La3Ni2O7 (LNO) has aroused a great deal of interest. Previously, it was proposed that the Ni-3dz2 orbital is crucial to realize the high-Tc SC in LNO. The preformed Cooper pairs therein acquire coherence via hybridization with the 3dx2−y2 orbital to form the SC. However, we held a different viewpoint that the interlayer pairing s-wave SC is induced by the 3dx2−y2 orbital, driven by the strong interlayer superexchange interaction.
Superconducting diode effect and interference patterns in kagome CsV3Sb5 - Nature
Abstract The interplay among frustrated lattice geometry, non-trivial band topology and correlation yields rich quantum states of matter in kagome systems1,2. A series of recent members in this family, AV3Sb5 (A = K, Rb or Cs), exhibit a cascade of symmetry-breaking transitions3, involving the 3Q chiral charge ordering4,5,6,7,8, electronic nematicity9,10, roton pair density wave11 and superconductivity12. The nature of the superconducting order is yet to be resolved.
Charge-4e superconductivity and chiral metal in 45°-twisted bilayer cuprates and related bilayers - Nature Communications
Abstract The material realization of charge-4e/6e superconductivity (SC) is a big challenge. Here, we propose to realize charge-4e SC in maximally-twisted homobilayers, such as 45∘-twisted bilayer cuprates and 30∘-twisted bilayer graphene, referred to as twist-bilayer quasicrystals (TB-QC).
Frustrated superconducting junction with tricomponent pairing gap functions
We study a superconducting heterojunction with one side characterized by the unconventional chiral p-wave gap function px±ipy and the other side the conventional s-wave one. Though a relative phase of ±π2 between any two components of gap functions is favored in the junction region, mutual phase differences cannot achieve ±π2 simultaneously, which results in frustration.
Moiré pattern of interference dislocations in condensate of indirect excitons
Abstract Interference patterns provide direct measurement of coherent propagation of matter waves in quantum systems. Superfluidity in Bose–Einstein condensates of excitons can enable long-range ballistic exciton propagation and can lead to emerging long-scale interference patterns. Indirect excitons (IXs) are formed by electrons and holes in separated layers. The theory predicts that the reduced IX recombination enables IX superfluid propagation over macroscopic distances.
